Three Tips To Stop Procrastination

The cliché is very old, but how true it is and how alive it is today "Time waits for no one". If you leave what you were suppose to do today for tomorrow, you only made the task more tasky for the next day. Ask yourself; where would the world be today if everyone was like me? If you think hard work is hard, try laziness. Laziness seems easy, but it is actually the hardest, because it brings more work. You must realize that procrastination is harmful and affects the rate, pace and attitude with wish you do things. It works slowly and is one of the major causes of failure.
Here are three simple tips that will help you stop procrastinating and begin acting.
Take Action: Nothing works until you act on it. According to Walt Disney "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing". Instead of thinking of putting away that activity, why not start on it now. One of the reasons why people dare to act is the fear of failing. They keep postponing doing what they are supposed to do now. The truth is that; it is better to fail trying than not acting at all. One step at a time, little drop of water makes a mighty ocean. There has to be an action first before things can begin to take shape and form. Make that move now.

Avoid Negative People: Procrastination also stems from keeping company with negative minded, unsuccessful people. They always have a reason why a plan cannot work and they tend to be everywhere. They poke holes into your plans not because they are genuinely concerned; but because they have failed. They have reasons why you cannot succeed and will discourage you from taking any meaningful action step. The least you need are those who will talk you down. As long as you keep them with you; you will not be able to move ahead.

Decision Time: The time to quit talking and thinking of the consequences of failure is now. There is no hard and fast rule about starting. It defers from individual to individual base on what you want to do. Whatever way you start, go at it with the mind to succeed. Do not have the mentality that later would be the best time to do what you are suppose to do now. There is no better time, chance and opportunity to begin working than now. As you read this post, desire that your time to begin on whatever you have been afraid of or contemplating on is now.

Maximize Time

Time management starts with the commitment to change. The secret behind a successful time management is when you plan ahead of time and stick to that planned time, come what may. Time is limited and scarce hence it is imperative we use it wisely so as to lead a stress free and happy life. Executing time management skills efficiently, play a critical role to streamline one's career. Time is indeed a very difficult resource to manage. This is why the term "time management" not only means managing one's time, but also implies managing our activities daily in order to make the best possible use of that time. It does not matter where you are in your life, whether you are an Internet marketer, own your own business, or just starting out. You need to have a good understand of time management and productivity. You could have the best business in the world, but nothing matters if you do not have a handle over how you use your time.  VNB68CE5DG26

THE BEST USE OF TIME

For what purpose will you invest your time and energy to increase your productivity, maximize your time, and organize your life in order to reach your set goals? Of all the reasons you have for doing the things that you do, achieving your goal is most important; it determines what you do and how you do it. You want to reach you goals, accomplish more and become happier in life; all of these is dependent on what you make happen. Everything needed to ensure that your goal setting processes and procedures are in place to ensure that all you want to do is done is what you should concentrate and spend your time doing.
Without goals your movement in life will not be defined. You definitely will make movement, but the direction might not be where you are supposed to be headed to. Movement does not signify progress; it is the direction than defines it. Goals give direction and purpose to our life actions. It defines your path, creates a sense of direction and focus and makes you responsible to a course. Task not finished, projects not completed and goals not achieve are indications that time was not put into best use.
People often say that they would not mind spending the whole of their time doing the things they love to do most. What we love to do varies from one person to another; how do you measure if what you love doing is worth the time you spend in doing it? Time spent on activities that will not add value to you in order to improve or increase you, and help you achieve your goals can not be said to be a well utilized time. If you spend half of your day in front of the TV set, is that a wise investment of time for the goals you have set to achieve? If you were to access your use of time, what will be the best thing you have done with your time? Learn to spend your time in such a manner that it profits your life. Understand the essence of time, the pattern with wish it moves, and be aligned to it.
In the same manner you cannot swim again the direction of the flow of a river with ease, so also you cannot become productive, attain excellence, and climb to the top level of management in your establishment, if you neglect time.

MANAGING TIME TO AVOID BEING IN A HURRY

Managing time requires some degree of discipline. It has nothing to do with being in a hurry. Hurrying portrays lack of control over yourself and the time you have to spend doing things. If you ever find yourself in a hurry, it is an indication that you have not done what you were suppose to do at the right time. Hurrying is trying to compensate for lost time and most times everything done in a hurry is usually messed up. One of the challenges you will encounter doing things in a hurry is that you will be under immense pressure, which will cause you to be tensed. Slow and steady they say wins the race. This is why you must begin to engage your thoughts, especially now on those things that you intend to achieve. You have to start doing something useful with your time now knowing that every seconds of it counts either to your advantage or disadvantage depending on what you are doing.
Do not be fooled with the illusion that you have all time in the world to yourself, because you do not. That cliché is a deception; and it will cost you if you buy into it. Use the time you have now while you can! Make hay while the sunshine! A stitch in time saves nine! Walk while you have the light! These are clichés to remind you that time is not to be wasted. It is better not to have time than to waste the available one that you have. There is nothing like being the one in control when embarking on any venture. It gives you confidence to act and generate within you the ability for maximum performance, knowing that you are in charge.
Before you can effectively manage your talents, business, home, academics, you have to understand the concept of time management. The concept of time management is all about your understanding of what time is and how to use it to achieve your set goals within the limit you have. You cannot be good in what you do if you do not invest time into it. Do what you are supposed to do at the right time and do not hesitate to start now. There is no way you will not get things done and achieve your goals if you know how to respect and use time.
You are only some seconds away from achieving your goals, completing that project, finishing that task and most importantly getting started at all.

EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT TIPS

Time management does not mean adhering to some rigid routine. It starts from when you wake up in the morning or just before you fall asleep at night. This usually is when your energies are at their highest, so this is when you should plan your day; if you miss it at this point your day is likely going to be adrift. At this time you let your roam around what you want to achieve at the end of that day, assuming you have decided to start or have started on a task. Your mind will begin to plan and find solution to problems and obstacles that you are likely to encounter. There is no substitute for this part of your day, and do not let anything take it from you.
Ever wonder why your day is usually not organized, it is because you do not take out some time to organize your thoughts before venturing into the harsh realities of life. The truth is that you will meet so many people during the course of your day activity that are not organized, and they can mess up your day if you are not careful. So wake up early, organize your thoughts in relation to what you want to achieve for the day, and you will definitely find the solutions and guidelines that you need.
Here are some ways to make this possible.
Be Proactive:
This is your ability to control situations by making things happens rather than waiting for them to happen and then reacting to it. As you go through your day, you will see or hear information that will be useful to achieving your goals faster than anticipated. Attend to the ones that require immediate attention while you brood over the rest. Being proactive is a skill you must practice, check your past decisions and try to see the ones you made right then find out what you did right, and then try again.
Be Decisive:
Make up your mind on what you want to do. The ability to make quick decision is an important skill. However, it is important to have enough information to make an informed decision. Yet, a poor decision is better than no decision at all. You do not have all the time in the world.
Do Not Be Wasteful:
Things that will not bring you benefit whatsoever should be eliminated from your daily tasks. Always ask yourself what you will benefit for doing what you are doing or about to do. Most people spend time attending to unimportant issues, when they should have been attending to important things or simply just resting. They usually have low response rate, forgetfulness and low productivity, most times from lack of rest. Remember, there are more important things to be done with time rather than wasting it.

MASTER THE USE OF TIME

Time has a mind of its own. It does what it wants to do, go where it wants to without recourse to you. It does not wait for you; it is either you make use of it when it is around or it disappears. You need it for everything that you will do, yet you do not have all of the time that you require. It becomes really essential to know how one can master time.
You have a specific amount of time that has been allotted to you to become whatever you wish to become and not a second more may be added to it. If you think time in this manner, you will know that every seconds of your life is important. To succeed you have to learn how to use time well to your advantage.
We wake up in morning with a dozen things on our mind to achieve, but end up not achieving any of it mostly because we did not master the use to time wisely. There is a time limit to achieve whatever you want to and after then, that time is past and never will reoccur. This is how life is designed, it’s like a stage; you do your part and go, you have an opportunity to make an impact.
Projects have deadlines, because the owners know they cannot afford to be on it forever. There are other things to be done, so they push until they have achieved what they want and then move on to another project. While some people see the concept of time as a wakeup call, some others hate it and wish for more time.
You cannot save time, because there is no bank to store it, or hide it somewhere. It means you have to achieve a lot more for less time. This way you can have more things done in a short while and have time to do other things. The reverse is that if you spend too much time doing ordinarily what needed a short time for, then there will be no more time to do even more important things.
Therefore, you have to work smarter and not harder. You have to be committed to an organized life. Have a routine to follow in other to get where you are going. Know how to master time and never waste any of it. Learn not to be impulsive, changing and making up your mind every second.

HOW TO STOP PROCRASTINATION

Since it is a slow time killer, it is not always easy to identify the habit of procrastination. Everyone wants to take life easy, enjoy comfort. So most times it seems easier to stay in our comfort zone and postpone things that we were supposed to be doing now for a later date. However the consequences are usually dire and we do not always find this out until we start seeing the effects, these effects are usually indelible and it leaves scars. You can avoid that trap by beginning today, not tomorrow to turns things around.
Just Do It:
Start On It Now
As simple as that sounds, whenever your mind tells you that something due to be done now can be done later, that is usually when to do it. You must learn to recognize the voice of procrastination. Use an alarm, write goals to be achieved, whatever, just get up and do that thing. Perhaps you have been planning to start on a task, now is the time to start on it.
Confront Your Fears:
One reason why many people procrastinate is because of the fear of the unknown. The fear of standing alone, of failing, of what people will say, or of losing money, stays us back from acting. The only way to overcome your fear is by acting in faith and that is by doing that thing. By transforming that negative energy into a positive one, by believing in yourself that you can achieve anything you set your heart to do. So you have to enter action with boldness. The mistake you make while acting with boldness can be covered with more boldness.
The Right Time:
Most people wait for the right time all their life and it never comes. The right time to start out is now. The reason is simple, if you fail; you have still got enough time to start over again. So ask yourself, the goal you need to achieve now can you afford to wait for another year or two to achieve it? The answer will help you to know whether to keep waiting or start out right now.

Laziness:
Leaving what is supposed to be done at this moment for later, or doing it halfheartly, is an act of laziness. It puts you under a lot of stress. Most times the task has to be done all over again, only this time in addition to other things making it seem there is a lot of work to be done. Remember that achieving your goals requires discipline and hard work; otherwise you must be contented with where you are at the moment.

Procrastination The Thief of Time

Procrastination is a thief not only of time, but also of life. It appears to be harmless, but has adverse effect on your time and dream. Many people are suffering loss, regrets, depression and pain caused by procrastinating. It has become a habit and way of life for some other people.
When you do not have a compass to where you are going and no ideal of what you want to achieve you open yourself to accept to do anything in order to be busy. But with clear goals you have constrains on you to focus and stay on course. Each time you have an excuse for not doing what is needed to be done at a particular time, you lose the power to put things under your control.

Procrastination is not a means of escaping responsibilities as most people feel, instead it makes the task taskier at the end. It only excuses you for now, but does not exonerate you from doing the work. There is an agenda meant to be worked on each day in order to achieve your set goal. Deferring from doing anyone of them, means you did not complete all you needed to do that day and as a result you stay behind time. Once you start to lack behind in activities, you delay the time of your accomplishment.
While do later what you can do now and tomorrow what can be done today? The activity you have planned for a day is just what you needed for that day alone. Adding to it a task not planned for creates overload.

  • Be clear about your mission. Do not allow your situation shape your destiny. Declare what you want to do, how you want to do it, where you want to do it, and when you want to start on it. Have a mission statement for your live and let that determine the things you do, and how you handle your time.

  • What you believe, you must do in order to become it. Do not do anything and everything, but only those things that you passionately believe can make your dream come true. Concentrate, focus and work on what you believe will make your dream a reality.

  • Organize yourself and your activities in such a way that every moment of time is used for attaining success. If you start just at anything you will end up at nothing. Ensure that everything needed to be done is well arranged and worked on. You also need to be discipline and committed to the course you want to pursue. Nothing works like doing the right thing, at the right time, using the right resources in the right environment.

Your Time, Your Life, Your Dream

No matter what you do and aim to achieve, time is one factor you have to greatly take into consideration. In everything in life time is incorporated. It is the difference between the seasons of life and nature, measures the rate at which work is being done, differentiate where you are today from where you will be tomorrow.
Your dream is the life you want to live in future, and your life is measured by time.
Abuse and misuse of it has great effect on what the outcome of your life will become.

Life is not a competition. The only person you will have to improve on is who you were yesterday. Your dream however the size poses great challenge to you, knowing that failure is not an option to consider.
Failure is one word people are afraid of. They do not want to hear it nor experience it in life, business, education and even in marriage. Do not leave your life to chance, focus on the dream you want to achieve, so that you can have a purpose for living.

Plan your life in such a way that every second counts and has positive effect on your dream. This will help you to maximize your time and spend it with a clear sense of direction of where you are heading to. If you are not experiencing in your life those things you are dreaming about, it is either because you have a wrong plan or you do not have a plan at all. What you do with your time certainly will be revealed in the expression of your life dream.

Schedule your time in such a way that you give priority to those activities in your life that will make your dream a reality. Let your dream be one of the reasons you have to live for each day. You must understand that each passing day brings you closer the fulfillment of your dream. If need be double your effort today so that you can cover up for the time abused yesterday.
Most people tend to regret the later part of their lives, because they spent their time doing the wrong thing. Identify those things you must do in other to actualize your dream. If you do not have a reason for living, it is because you do not have a dream. No matter how bad things may look your dream is the future of your tomorrow’s life.

Prioritizing...How It Works

In economics we understand that human wants are numerous and can not be satisfied all at once. This gave need to the concept for Scale of Preference, where you have to arrange your needs in order of most important to less important. This same concept is also applicable in time management.

There are so many things you want to work on, achieve and accomplish, but it is not just feasible to get them at the same time. With this in mind, it therefore becomes of great concern to do things in order of relevance to what you want to achieve. There is the one thing upon which other things are dependent on, and if it is done will answer the rest. How will you then identify it, if you just take on any task and begin to work on it?
Prioritizing simply means arranging things in order of importance. This does not deny the fact that everything is important, but help to give a clear direction of what is to be done and in the order to which it should be done. It enables you to eliminate activities that are not relevant for which you would have spent time unnecessarily.
When you know what to do at a particular time, you are able to maximize that moment to your advantage. While time management is a big problem to people today is the fact that, they work just at anything not considering its importance to their set goal.

Just as every way will not lead you to your desired destination, so also any work will not get you to achieve your goal. There are activities that are relevant to what you want to accomplish, and until you start doing them, you will never arrive at your goal. Your planned destination will remain an imaginary picture in your mind and a written word on paper, if you do not do those things that will make it a reality.

These are some of the advantages of prioritizing your daily activities.
  • Things are placed rightly where they belong in your to do list.
  • Irrelevant activities that steal time will eliminated, since only those task need to be done will be on your list.
  • You start on the more important task and not just on anyone.
  • Your energy and resources are used wisely, because it is directed towards the tasks that are needed.

Take Time Out...The Rest Factor

The world is in a rush. Every where you look, you see busy people who are on the move. The day begins with getting up early, catching up with the morning train or bus as the case may be. Having lots of work to do in the office, scheduled meetings to attend, and project deadlines to meet.
When you start working on a task, there is tendency to be overloaded. During work, you are using up energy as you try to beat time by getting the work done. You will not know the effect this is having on you, because you are focused and consumed with getting the work done. You pile up stress that wears you out.
When your mind feels stressed up due to the fact that you overload it with thoughts, a period of rest is what you need where you are doing not. This will help to replenish and refresh you.
Rest is a condition where your body is allowed to heal and reabsorb energy it has lost through the use of the body and mind. Research shows that you become more productive, reduced stress and improve your mental capability by taking a moment of rest. Rest is one important thing most people ignore, because they do not know its benefit. You have a limit to which you can work. When you try to go beyond that limit, you will break down. When you refuse to give yourself rest, your body system is affected due to overloading.

As an Engineering student back in school, we took a course on the strength of material and the effect of stress on a material. When load is continuously applied on a material, stress gradually builds up. It gets to a time that the built up stress is just enough to break that material. That’s same thing our body experience. When you work and refuse to rest, stress is built up due to overloading. The stress built up will just be enough to cause your body to break down.
Your state is very vital. You have to be mentally capable, emotionally balance, psychologically fit, before you start on any task. These are some of the benefits you get when you observe a moment of rest.

When you break down, your work will suffer, your plans will be on hold and your setup for achieving your goals will be on stand still.
Get refreshed, geared up, reduced stress…………observe a moment of rest.

Why Cant I Get It Done On Time

This is one question millions of people over the globe ask themselves every now and then. Before today, I once asked this same question, but could not really answer it. It is not as if you are idle, but you simply may not know that there is a difference between work and productivity.
By analyzing the word “WHY”, many questions can be answered that will help you in time management. It is a word of reason, purpose, and intent.
Until you start to question the reason you do things, you will not be able to manage time. That you did not meet up with a deadline does not mean you were not working on it. You only failed to question yourself about the task before you got started.

Priorities can change depending on certain factors. Your plan is the picture that gives you an ideal of what you are aiming at, but the method of achieving may vary from time to time. Change may occur, but the “why” factor enables you to know what area to apply the change.
Before you start on the next activity, task or project, ask yourself why you want to do what you are about doing now. You will by this be able to know if the task should be done, and if the timing is right.

Doing the right time at the wrong time makes it absolutely wrong. So it is not just enough to do what is right, also consider if it is done at the right time. You will be able to accomplish any task, achieve any goal, if you learn to ask the WHY question.
Your task and your time are related as they compliment for one another. Your time has value, when you spend it on what is right at that instance. On the other hand, the value of your task is when it is done at the right time.
The regret you have for time misused, is that it was spent on things that were not profitable to you as at when you spent it.

Time can not be wasted, because it can not be preserved, replaced and replenished.
You are always doing something with your time. What matter is the relevance of what you are doing at the moment with you time.
The desire to make a difference begins with the ability to take the right decision on what to do. What you want to do is base on its relevance to you. All these will become simple if you will ask yourself WHY.

Be The Coach Of Your Time.

Time is common to everybody, but it means different things to each person. No matter the interpretation or description people give to time, it does not change the value, worth and the fact that there are 24 hours in one day.
  • Do you know you can determine and control the things you do within the time frame you have.
  • Nobody can control your time for you.
  • Your time is unique and peculiar to you alone.
  • You can become the coach of your time.

Remember that you do not have control over other people’s time. You only share of the time they are willing to allocate to you.
You have to take charge of the things you do. Do not allow situations determine how you decide to use your time. Just the way you plan your monthly budget, plan the daily use of your time also.

See 24 hours as the money you need to spend a day to purchase the commodities you need for that day. Let your activities become the commodities needed to be purchased. When you do this, you find that you wont need to purchase certain things, therefore you will not spend on them.
Not until you monetize your time, you will not know how much of it you are spending on those things that you do not have need for.

When you misuse your monthly funds, either by planning a budget above you pay or by spending on those things that are not necessary, you will run into budget deficit.
That’s exactly what happens also, when you loose control of your time. You will have a lot of pending task which you will have to take over to the next day. Each day activity is just enough for that day. In order be a good coach of your time, observe the following things;
1.      Have a workable Plan.
2.      Control your activities.
3.      Decide what is right and do it.
4.      Avoid distractions.
5.      Stay focus.
6.      Do not procrastinate.
7.      Have a good and positive mental altitude.
8.      Monitor your progress.

For every time you waste, something suffers for it. Know that you are never idle. You are either busy about one thing or another. That you are busy does not mean you are productive. Being occupied with an activity does not imply that the activity is worth that time.

You are the coach of your time. Adopt a system that supports change in the face of challenges, and still keeps you focused. Have a strategy for allocating your time and a mechanism for tracking your progress.

Improve Yourself.....And Manage Time

Do you know you are greater than your task? Whatever you are working on, whether on a project or a task, understand that it is man’s initiative and can not be greater than the initiator. When you decide to carry out an activity, you must consider yourself first. No task can perform itself except you work on it. You then must give preference, value and consideration to yourself first.

Self Development
In order to stand out and make a difference in whatever you are doing, it may be on a project, in a job, or as a student, you must know what others do not know. Those who lead and are at the top, are those who know and understand what others don't. This is the mark of excellence and uniqueness.
You should note that there are countless number of people who can do what you are doing effectively and even produce greater result, if only they had the same opportunity as you.

Learn Skills
Learn the skills relevant to the work you are doing. This might require you to take on a part-time course, attend training sessions, go for seminars, so that you can become more informed and equipped with the skills you need to make a difference.
One advantage about this is that, you become good in time management. You are able to work on a task without wasting time on it. You are capable of managing yourself, value time, and handle it to achieve your desired result.

Experience and expertise is a result of the skills acquired and practically applied to increase productivity.

If you remain the way you are, over time you will lose relevance and be relegated.
Change occurs every moment. What is generally accepted and obtainable today, might be obsolete tomorrow. This is what change brings. It helps you to refine, package and adjust yourself with the present moment.

Get Results
People who are new on a job and suddenly climb high the hierarchy to the top within a short period of time are those who produce results.

·        The manner with which you do things.
·        Your approach and style.
·        Your commitment.
·        The Result.

These factors distinguish your work from that of others. At the end, what is important is the result, outcome, and output. All resources, machinery, man power implore on a task or project is geared towards an expected result.
When you develop yourself by being equipped with the right skills, you increase your productivity rate and position yourself for leadership.

Goal Setting-----Tips To Know

Your goals represent your life in the future. It simply shows the picture of you living ahead this present time into the future. Just the way you can not be separated from your shadow, so also you can not be greater than the goals you set to achieve. Goals may be different with people, but it all points to a destination of success, a happier life, greater productivity and a fulfilled dream.
As important as this stage of time management, people spend little time on it. Note that the quality of time and attention you give to something, determines the quality of the outcome. So it is wise you invest more in this, as this is the sum up of what time management is about.
In setting goals, there are certain things you should know in order to en sure that you are able to achieve your desired expectation.
·         Make sure that your goals are reasonable, obtainable and that you have realistic chances of achieving them within a particular time limit.
·         After this is done, the next thing is to set up a mechanism to measure the rate of progress you are making. This will help you to monitor your progress, ensuring that what is needed to be done is done, and at the right time.
·         Ensure that in the occurrence of unforeseen circumstances, you are able to apply change, and still keep your goals alive and on track.
·   Resist and avoid all forms of distractions. It possesses a great threat to your achieving your dreams, as it invades your time and denies you of achieving the goal you want. See distraction for what it is, irrespective of where it is coming from.
You should understand that no matter how big, wonderful, and great your goal may be it requires a catalyst for it to become a living reality. You are the catalyst that can make it come through, no matter what people may feel about it.
According to NEWTON’S FIRST LAW OF MOTION; A body remains in a state of rest, unless acted on by an external force. Nothing will happen expect you take deliberate positive action, directed towards the course you want to achieve. Position yourself as such that you are actively doing those things relevant to your dream.
·         Your goal is the future you want to achieve.
·         Nobody can interpret your dreams for you better than you.
·         No one can bear the burden of your goal like you can.

Work Life Balance

Most people find it a challenge to balance their life with work. As a result, one of these aspects tends to suffer. Managing time becomes really important in order to create a balance. But you can not manage what you have not scheduled. For you to understand this, you have to take work and life as two different entities that make up your activities, and are demanding your attention greatly. This will help you schedule your time, in other to create a work life balance. If you fail to schedule your time, something else will do it for you.
Work life balance is about setting limits and truly understanding that every detail in your daily routine is important to you and your goal. You need to have firm control of yourself and be the one in charge. When you loss control, and mis-manage time, both your life and work will suffer, due to the inability of your mind to contain the loss.

Prioritizing
It is all about understanding what you want to do, knowing that there are too many things to be done, and that you can not do all of them at once. It helps you to place a limit to your daily activities. The process of prioritizing helps in work life balance as you stick only to those things that are important to your set goals, either on a project or for your family.
You must know that you can not do every thing. Stay focus on your goals and concentrate your strength and resources doing it. Life Is Beautiful

Life is a gift and it is beautiful. There are so many beautiful things to make out of life. Life is beautiful, if we do our best within boundaries and destiny takes care of the rest. Life is as one experience it. The present moment is a past moment in the future. One important thing about life is that it is a function of time. Your life is equivalent to your time. Whatever you make out of time is what will reflect in your life.

Time = Life:
One key thing about life is that it is a function of time. The real beauty of life is reflected in how and what you do with time.
Life......................Years.
Years...................Months.
Months................Days.
A day...................24hours.

We see that life is measured in time. As beautiful as life can be, mis-management of time can make it terrible. The different between your present location and the desired destination is time. Exploring and enjoying the beauty of life is to make proper use of time to your advantage, doing the right things.

Time on the other hand is neither a friend nor an enemy. It does not choose who to favor. Your understanding of time is what determines what you get out of it. As much as you guide and cherish your life, handle your time in like manner.

Time wasted is same as life waste. Do not give it away so cheaply, especially to those things that will not help you achieve your set goals. One truthful thing about life is that, whenever you achieve a goal or complete a project with time frame, you always have this feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment. This shows to you the importance of time in what so ever you do.
When next you think of Life, consider time.

Common Time Management Mistakes

Have you considered how time just ticks pass and you can not even account for what you have done. Most often people engage themselves in activities that are not relevant to their goals, and they do not even know.
There are many mistakes people make when it comes to time management. Some of the common ones are what I will talk about from my little research.
Failing To Plan
When you fail to plan, you have planned to fail. Planning is a process that does not end, until you achieve your set goal. When you do not plan, you definitely do not have a sense of direction of what to do. You end up spending time on everything, even when they are not important. Without adequate planning, it is difficult to understand what it will take to complete a project successfully. Lack of planning leads to inadequate preparation, unexpected problems and Poor execution.
Planning defines a path for you and helps in strategic management, as you begin to develop ideas on how to execute your plan.
Using Your Head
Most often people tend to do things from their head, with the belief that they have it all stock up there. It is good, but not effective. Under pressure, you tend to forget even the simplest of details. On the other hand you may remember all to be done, but you will be faced with the challenge of which is to be done first. The fact is that you simply can not rely on your memory alone to keep track of records, without getting overloaded.  It is best practice to have a “To Do List” of your activities written down in order of importance.
Trying To Do Everything
That you have plan does not mean it will be actualized instantly. Planning is a process that requires determination, dedication and Patience. You can not do everything just at ones, because not all things are important as far as your goal is concerned. When you attempt to do too much, you invariably end up shortchanging and neglecting important areas of your life that get left behind.  Give place only to those things that will positively take you closer your goal.
Always Saying Yes
There are so many reasons while people say yes, even when it is not convenient to.
-          It might be not to offend some
-          Trying to please/impress others.
Any activity that is not in your to do list should not be considered. Saying yes is like a commitment, if not keep might make you lose your integrity. You could be given out your free time that would have been spent with family or sleeping, without realizing it. Every time you choose to do something, you always give up something else you could have done with that time.

The Concept Of Time Management

Everybody talks about time. No matter where you are in the world and what you do, time is common to everyone. I strongly believe it is not a subject to be over looked. But you can not  talk about Time Management, without understanding some basic truth about time.
                Things to Know about Time
·         It is universal: it implies that no matter where you are, regardless of color, culture, religion, and location time affects us all.
·         It is a constant: 24 hours makes a complete day, nothing more nor less.
·         It does not Stop: It is design to continuously tick, independent of whether you are active or not, alive or death.
·         It can not be adjusted: Whenever a particular hour passes in a day, let’s say 10am, you can not bring it back.
·         It can not be bought: Of all purchasable items, time is one that has no market place of exchange.

The worth of time varies amongst people. Your value for time depends on your understanding of it. Time means different things to us. For most people, time has more value than money, a resource to achieve goals, a tool to manage live, and a gift to treasure.

Which of these reveals your view of time? What you think of time really matters a lot, because it will affect how you relate to it.

The various views of time, is what gives rise to “The Concept of Time Management”. It then becomes imperative to know what time management is. Remember that a concept is an idea or notion shared by someone or a group of people.
Time Management is not having ability to manage time. You can only manage what you have control of. Since time can not be controlled, it is then not possible to manage it. This may sound awkward, but it is basically the truth. While not try pausing time may be for a minute or two, to see show much control you have over it.
If you have a challenge in meeting deadlines, or getting things done what you probably need to do is to manage yourself. It takes discipline, determination and patience to do so. But once you’ve mastered the skill, your productivity and effectiveness in using the time you have to get things done will increase.

The concept of time management deals not on managing time, instead it considers your understanding of what time means to you, and gives a true definition of time management. It focuses on achieving goals and completing projects by applying some simple tools.

How To Gain More Time

The one thing people do not have in excess is time. They wish they could extend it, so they get more done. This appears like a limitation to getting things gone. Do you know you can carry out your daily task and still have time for other things not in your schedule?  It depends on how you approach each day.

Spend time in planning.
Using time to think and plan is a time well-spent. Planning is a process that continues until you complete a task. The first step is to analyze how you actually spend your time so you can determine what changes you have to make. Organize in a way that makes sense to you and stick to it no matter the hitch you may experience on the way.

Have a StrategyThe strategy you implore matters a lot in carrying out a task. Each task will pose different challenges.  So you do not approach them in the manner. Your plan should be such that allows you to adopt of modify your strategy if the need arises.

Prioritize Your ActivitiesSo many things around you demand your time, but not all do worth it. If you see your time as precious then you will not waste it on just anything. Give attention to those things in your "To Do List". Ascertain the things that need to be accomplished first so that you can do them accordingly. The activities that do not fall in are not important as far as your time is concerned.  Focus on activities most important to the achievement of your highest goals and on other activities afterward.

Take Assessment of Your ActivitiesIt is a good idea to evaluate regularly how you are spending your time doing activities. Take time out, may be every 3hours to keep track of your activities. It will help you know what you have done, what is left to be done, the time you have spent, and what is left. You will be able to know your time rate of doing things.

Continuously improve yourself
A river that is stagnant will stink. So also is the person who remains the same. Make time in your schedule to learn new things and develop your natural talents and abilities.  For example, you could take a class, attend a training program, or read a book. Continuously improving your knowledge and skills increases your marketability, can help boost your career.

Self Management

Time is a constant, which means it does not change. 24 hours a day is universal and common to everyone. In the real sense you can not manage time; because it is fixed you only adjust to it. Just like a river that flows, time ticks on, you are the one who aligns yourself to every tick.

Self management is what you need to be able you need to utilize time. Change is a constant, which does not apply to time, but to you. Your evaluation of yourself, affects how you handle time. If you mean nothing to yourself, nothing will mean anything to you. Feel great about yourself, embrace time, live full and fulfilled.

Get Organized
Oraganized yourself by putting things in their proper place. The way you do things, the nature of your surrounding affects your organization.
When do you wake up in the morning?
How does your bedroom look?
What about the files on your office desk?

When you answer these question, you will have a clue as to whether you are organized in the way you handle things. All your activities are tired to time, so if you cannot organize them, you definitely would with time.

Identify bad Habits
Make a list of bad habits that are stealing your time, sabotaging your goals, and blocking your success. After you do, work on them one at a time and systematically eliminate them from your life. Evaluate the time you spend on your PC, in front of the TV, hanging out and even sleeping. You will be amazed that you have spent more hours on nothing at the expense of your goals.
Remember that the easiest way to eliminate a bad habit, it to replace it with a better habit.

Take Responsibility for Yourself
Your ability to respond to change will is very vital. It shows s that you are on top of it and have things in control. Be the custodian of your actions. Be bold to accept responsibility for your actions. When you accept responsibility you take control of changing the results.

Write down things
A common time management mistake is to try to use your memory to keep track of too many details leading to information overload. Using a to-do list to write things down is a great way to take control of your projects and tasks and keep yourself organized.

Manage your time for Success

Time has different values in different cultures. It also has different values for different people. Some consider it to be money. But time is more valuable than money because it cannot be renewed. But time, like a river, is neutral. It flows where it will regardless of what people think about it. Regardless of different views, one thing is clear: it is precious. It is precious because it is a non-renewing, diminishing resource. When we use it well, we can create happy and productive lives.

For Success-oriented person, time is neither a friend nor an enemy. It is a resource. It is a master resource, because you use it to decide how to allocate other resources, like skill, effort and money. Using time well is ordering your actions and organizing your experiences. . These are based on first deciding what is important to you. When you know what you need and want then you can decide how to best go about getting it.

Your goal should be a blend of idealism and realism. It should be ideal because it forces you to reach to a new level. And it should be realistic because it allows you to access your current resources to get started on it. When you decide how to reach your goal, it becomes a plan. When you break the future into time frames, you can measure your progress as you proceed.

Time management is a success tool because it is a process of establishing order over chaos, intention over accident, and purpose over whims. In managing your time, you also have to take into account three influential variables: flexibility, mood, and bodily rhythms. You need to be flexible because things have a way of taking longer than expected. You need to be in the right mood because if you're angry, frustrated, or depressed you'll sabotage your plan before it has even unfolded.

And you need to remember that you are a time clock too. You work with your habits, your cycles, and your mental and physical rhythms. How you sleep, eat, exercise, or relate to others has a profound impact on how you manage your time. When you manage your time, you create specific steps for success. This is the real value of all theories of time management.

Time Management strategy for managers

Your time is quite different to any other resource, as the terms can't be changed:  everyone is a year older than they were twelve months ago there are only 24 hours in a day, no matter how much you try to create more you can correct mistakes made with other resources, but a wasted hour is lost forever. One thing that the most impressive managers have in common is that they are well organised and manage their time well.

Why improve your time management? Do you always meet deadlines?
Do you have enough time to do the things that are important?
Do you spend enough time with your family/friends?
Do you spend enough time relaxing, taking exercise, enjoying your hobbies?
Are you always content with the amount of time that you have available?
Do you spend enough time thinking about/planning the future of your business?
Do you spend enough time with the members of your team?
Do you spend enough time with your customers?
Do you spend enough time reading and keeping up to date?
If your answer to one or more of the above questions is no, then you could benefit from
improving your time management.
Managing your time is about being effective (doing the right things) as well as beingefficient (doing things right). To ensure that you are doing the right things, you need to have clear goals:

Identify your ‘key result areas’ ie the main aspects of your job where you should achieve measurable results… sales, levels, budget performance, productivity, market share etc.
Identify specific objectives and targets for each key result area, for the forthcoming year/quarter/month e.g.
increase market share by 1% per quarter, grow sales by 10% by the year end.

Ensure that your goals and objectives reflect the needs of your customers.
Decide how to track and measure your performance.

Set review dates, to check that your goals and objectives are being tracked.
For each objective, identify the activities or tasks to be done. It is important to prioritise these, so that the
most important and urgent tasks get done first. Determine the priority of an activity in terms of importance
(contribution to your overall success or achievement of an objective) and its urgency (how soon it needs to be done).
Plan to do the tasks in the following order: 1. Plan to do tasks which are both important and urgent first.
2. Fit the urgent but not important tasks in quickly after.
3. Put time aside when you will do the important but not urgent things.
4. Identify time wasters and resolve to ignore them.
Decide how much time to spend on each activity, considering the time-benefit ratio. How much time is it worth, considering its value?Set time limits and deadlines for everything you do.

Consider who should complete the task. Is it the best use of your time, or should it be delegated to a member of your team? Your time management system will help you to determine what you should be doing now.
  • Avoid distractions and try to manage time wasters.
  • Identify the root causes of what wastes your time.
  • Remove time wasters, if possible, or at least minimise their impact.
  • Review whether or not you are delegating enough.
  • Discourage others from keeping you informed of too much detail.
  • Anticipate what information you need to share with your team and find a time- effective way of doing it eg a short meeting, an email.
  • Only hold a meeting if it’s necessary and be disciplined in sticking to a timed agenda.
  • Avoid interruptions by letting others know when you would prefer not to be interrupted.
  • Learn how and when to say no, to avoid always being led by the priorities of others.
  • Before making phone calls, make a list of points to cover.

Do you have time for Success

Success is one thing people every where desire to attain. Whether you are a CEO, Entrepreneur, Business personnel, professional, or a student, irrespective of the field of specialisation, success is always in view. People want to be counted as successful. Success is not an achievement, but a destination, and the difference between one destination and another is time. If you desire to board on a plane from your present location to another location, what you are most concerned about is the time of departure and that of arrival. You can not talk about success, if you do not know how to manage time wisely.

Am There....But too lateWhat do you think of a man at 70year obtaining his first degree, a woman at 65year having her first issue, making your first million at 80year. All of these achievement calls for celebration, but the timing is not just right. There is nothing like early satisfaction. When you see your goals come to pass at the right time, it gives you great joy of accomplishment and fulfilment. Start early, so that you can get more done and accomplish great.
   Choose Your Time
Time varies from place to place, and from one person to another. 6am in New-york is not the same in Madrid. Morning time for most people, might be Evening for others. Determine your time. Decide that now is the most appropriate time to begin your journey to success. Put away the agents of boredom and distraction, harness the treasure of time.

  • Set goals.
  • Make plans toward achieving your set goals.
  • Prioritize your plans.
  • Take consistent action steps towards your goals.
  • Keep track of your activities.
  • Assess yourself to know how well you are doing. This will help you adjust, change and improve where there are lapses.
  • Always rate your performance as it relates to your goals.

The Gift Called Time

Just like life and several other gift we receive without effort, labour or request. Time is also a gift that is
precious and should be cherished. We get excited about gifts we receive during birthdays, anniversary,
thanksgivings and other eventful occasions in live. Stop and think, how many times have you ever being excited about time. The beauty of time is that it is independent of seasons, events, inventions and all other factors. It is a constant.

Seasons change, but Time is constant,
Records are broken, but Time ticks on,
Products expire, but Time remains,
Alive or dead, Time does not change,
Time does not stop, it ticks on and each tick accounts for life. Your altitude towards time show your value for it. The greatest lost to avoid is not that of a job, car, stock or money, but of time. You can replace a car, get a new job and earn more money, but time gone can never be recovered.

More than you love your career, love time
More than you respect your boss, respect time
More than you value your jewelries, value time
More than you are committed to your relationship, be committed to time
More than you manage your business, manage time.
If there is one gift to be worried about loosing, it is your time.

Utilising Time
Time ticks irrespective of persons. It does not choose who to favour and who not to. What you sow is what you reap. In order to utilise time, you must know that there is non to waste. Keep in your mind that you do not own time, therefore you can not control it. Thinks of time as the difference between your today and your expected tomorrow. See time as your resources to attain greatest and achieve your dreams.

Time Management and Money

Time is money. Managing time is saving money. If you want to make money, you need to manage your time very carefully and avoid anything which distracts you and takes you away from your primary focus. What time worth varies from persons to person. Every seconds of every day has monetary value, no matter what you are doing. While most people earn $7.25 an hours others earn more depending on the worth placed on time. Knowing how much time to schedule for each job is critical. Time is a resource you must invest it carefully. The bottom line is to start thinking of your time as the precious commodity it is. Time is money - so invest it. Invest it in those areas that produce the most benefit and lead toward living a full and enriched life. Stop just spending time, wasting time, and giving time away. Invest it!

  Thinking of Time as Money
Assign a monetary value to your time, and watch how much less of it you are willing to waste on unimportant stuff. When you are not sure an activity is worthwhile, calculate how much it will cost to do it. Watching TV suddenly becomes very expensive, money that could take you closer to your dream. The choice is yours.  Change the way you manage your time. There are four primary things we can do with money. It can be spent, it can be saved, it can be invested, and it can be given away. Time cannot be saved. It passes by, second by second, 1,460 minutes, each and every day. Once it is gone, you can never get it back. You have only three options for using the time you are given each day. You can spend it, you can give it away, and you can invest it. To spend money means to pay out money or give money for something in return.

Never Late....Always On Time

The essence of time management is carrying out planned task within the stipulated time. Beyond setting goals and panning on how to actualise those goal is the within time factor. the satisfaction of accomplishing a task is doing it within the time allotted. trust is a function of how much you respect time. You can not be trusted, f you can not maintain time. Lateness either to work, an appointment, or even an occasion, shows lack of self discipline and disregard for that valuable asset called time.

   Self Value and Discipline
Time management begins with self discipline.Time management will be hard if you do not apply enough self discipline. Boredom and tiredness can easily set in which may upset the process. The value placed on something, determines what it is worth and the time that will given to it.
How much value do you place on yourself? Remember, you can not give what you do not have. If you do not value yourself, you can not value time. Begin working on yourself. When you can properly manage yourself, you can manage time to your advantage.

   Starting Early
There is an advantage in starting early, which you must utilise. When you start on a task early you gain more time to yourself. You must understand that there is no time to waste. you must at all times be busy doing something relevant to your goal. when you delay in carrying out activities, you would end up having carryovers that would make you have pile-up  work for the following day. making the work more task full.
